ജന്മനാടായ രാമേശ്വരത്ത് വ്യാഴാഴ്ചയായിരുന്നു കബറടക്കം. 2002 മുതല്‍ 2007 വരെയായിരുന്നു അബ്ദുല്‍ കലാം പ്രസിഡന്റ് പദവിയില്‍ തുടര്‍ന്നത്. 1997ല്‍ രാജ്യം ഭാരത രത്‌ന നല്‍കി അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ആദരിച്ചിരുന്നു.
